Our team has successfully adopted and tested the image scanning algorithm developed by the CanberraUAV team. This algorithm will be implemented into the on-board image scanning computer on the aircraft and will help to find the lost hiker during the competition.
We are very grateful for the help that CanberraUAV has given to us and many other teams, and think that the spirit of collaboration which it is creating is very positive.

Hi Chris, the CanberraUAV code is available on github – more information and a link to the code is available here: http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/demonstration-of-canberrauav-image-search-algorithm
We have also developed our own image scanning software using SimpleCV – this was quite an easy way for us to experiment with this capability – you can read more about this here – http://h2joe.wordpress.com/2014/08/27/custom-image-scanning-algorithm-developed-with-simplecv/
