The team’s custom built FailSafe Device

The team has designed and built their own Failsafe Device, learning new skills in electronic and circuit board design in the process.
The Failsafe Device is a safety feature of that automatically crashes the plane if the Autopilot system locks up or stops sending a heartbeat signal. This is required by the rules of the competition.
Many thanks to Jack Pittar from CanberraUAV for his advice in the design process.

Note: We have a few spare PCB’s printed which we would be happy to provide to other OBC teams at cost value.
